Enjoy polka music at its finest as the Don Wojtila Orchestra and Kathy Hlad take the stage at SNPJ Farm in Kirtland, Ohio, for a Polka Mass and dance, Sunday, July 28, 2019. Both Kathy and Don are Polka Hall of Fame legends who delight dancers and fans with their Cleveland-Style entertainment. Don is the well-known Euclid baker and Kathy is one of North Collinwood's leading music-makers.

Kathy Hlad and her friends welcome you with the Polka Mass at 1:00 p.m. The Polka Mass brings a new dimension to worship with hymns set to favorite polka and waltz melodies on the button box. Father Norm Gajdzinski, pastor emeritus of St. Therese in Garfield Heights, Ohio, joins Kathy for this unique expression of faith, based upon Slovenian-American musical traditions. Sing-along sheets are provided.

The Don Wojtila Orchestra is a long-time favorite, with a rollicking, fun-filled take on polka that makes you want to get up and dance. Accordionist Don Wojtila revitalizes the classic Cleveland Style with the music of his youth – rock-and-roll, pop, country music, and even Broadway tunes. The result is one the most versatile bands on the polka scene  -- especially as Schnickelfritz at Cleveland's Hofbrau Haus. Don and his musical team perform from 3:00 to 7:00.

Dinner and sandwiches are served from 2:00 on with your choice of smoked Slovenian sausage or home-style roast beef. Admission is $8, 18 and under free. Your hosts are the members and friends of Charter Lodge 5, Naprej, of the Slovene National Benefit Society (SNPJ), celebrating their organization’s 115th anniversary. Call (216) 481-1379, for details.

SNPJ Farm is on Heath Road in Kirtland, Ohio, off Chardon Road (Route 6), three miles east of Route 306 and six miles west of State Route 44.
