Tom Evert provides a new wave of Dance and Education Programming.

Tom Evert in the Shore studio

Tom Evert, Artistic Director of DANCEVERT, has a long standing presence in Art and education, but feels he has not maximized his input in his home community in Euclid.

An exciting development for everyone is that the company has been awarded a grant from the Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation enabling residencies in a number of Euclid Schools. Mr Evert will present the enjoyable and effective math teaching lessons called “Geometry in Motion” in which dance activities, discipline and creativity is used to study the academic content standards of Geometry. These residencies have proven to increase scores on state tests and provide a creative and interactive learning style that is enjoyable.

Mr. Evert also teaches children’s and adult classes at Shore Cultural Centre and is fortifying the School structure there. The training is focused on the principles of improving body and motion control through the discipline, conditioning, creativity  and fun of Modern dance.  The program also offers students  performance opportunities at Shore Cultural Centre and at special events. Check the Shore website for Information.
