Euclid Democratic Club holds picnic

The Euclid Democratic Club held its second annual picnic on June 26 by the lake on the grounds of the Bonneville Condominium complex on Lakeshore Boulevard. Of special interest to the Club was the upcoming County Council primary as candidates Jim Joyner, Nino Prodan and Sunny Simon spoke to the group about their candidacies.

The highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of a proclamation from State Representative Kenny Yuko to Chuck and Norma Keay. The proclamation was a tribute to the Keays thanking them in part for their "giving of time, energy and abilities to make sure Democratic candidates are elected." The proclamation also saluted them as outstanding members of the Euclid Democratic Club. Also in attendance were school board member Kent Smith and City Councilwoman Kandace Jones.

The Club does not hold meetings during the summer in preparation for its annual brunch in August. Meetings will begin again on the third Thursday in September at the Euclid Public Library at 7 p.m. The Club welcomes new members. Additional information can be obtained by calling Club President Frank Barberio at (216) 509-7725.
