LCA Reschedules Annual Spring Meeting

The Lakeland Civic Association will postpone its regular April meeting until June 11. The Early Learning Village has been the regular venue for LCA's quarterly meetings. The Euclid School District is suspending activity at that school following Ohio governor DeWine's orders.

LCA president Kevin Jones encourages members and all neighborhood residents to stay home during this period. With help from association officers and neighborhood trustees, he is developing an online network to maintain good communications. He will announce the agenda for the June meeting on the group's new Facebook page and in emails to be developed in the next several weeks, depending on the constraints imposed by the current epidemic.

“We have many email addresses and telephone numbers for neighbors who are the active core of our group and who routinely attend meetings and other activities. We hope to expand this list in the next few weeks,” says Mr Jones.

Mr Jones adds his own email address to the group's quarterly newsletters and stresses the importance at this time for residents to take advantage of the Internet. LCA neighbors take care of one another and the new online facility will make it easier to maintain and expand that neighborliness during Ohio's sheltering in place.

Secretary Sandi Jones will arrange the list of LCA's standing committees that organize the group's several yearly events. The most urgent of these will be the annual Saturday Yard Sales scheduled this year for June 27. Others include the Fourth of July Bike Parade and the popular Summer Picnic. Mrs Jones notes also that a three-person association committee maintains the neighborhood's “Triangle” area with landscaping and regular plantings.

The Lakeland Civic Association distributes newsletters to all households within its general area, the houses known as F&S Homes in Euclid, bounded by Walnut Ave, 272nd Street, and the east side of Forestview Ave. Envelopes for annual dues will accompany the April newsletter.
