Message from the Mayor

Happy New Year to all!  2020 starts a new decade, brings the US Census, a Presidential election, a leap year and hopefully continued growth and progress for the City of Euclid!

I would first like to thank outgoing City Council members, Ward 3 Councilwoman Taneika Hill and Ward 7 Councilman Daryl Langman for their service to the City.  Both worked hard to improve their wards and the City as a whole.  On behalf of the City, I would like to thank them for their dedication, commitment and positive impact on Euclid!  I would also like to welcome two new City Council members – Ward 3 Councilman Marcus Epps and Ward 7 Councilwoman Maria Jukic.  I look forward to working with all of City Council to continue to progress and growth of our community!

2020 brings the US Census – you will be hearing more about this over the next few months.  It is critical for the City that everyone is counted!  The Census data impacts how $675 billion are spent supporting state, county and community’s vital programs.  This year you will be able to respond on-line, over the phone, by mail or in person.  It is safe, secure, and confidential!  I want to thank the Euclid Public Library for taking a lead in making sure we have a complete count!  Look for more information over the next few months and please do your part to make sure everyone in Euclid is counted!

As we start a new year, I also want to acknowledge the hard work of so many over the last year.  We have seen some great progress with: Amazon opening in September, 2 new buildings under construction at Bluestone Business Park; New businesses coming to Euclid and many expansions of existing businesses; Record number of residential and commercial permits – showing new investment; Opening of the Euclid School Early Learning Village and construction underway of new High School/ Middle School; Construction on Waterfront Trail and public access transforming our lakefront;  New summer youth camp; Re-construction of East 222nd Street; and so much more!  We will continue to work hard every day to continue the progress and growth!

I want to thank all the City staff who work hard every day to provide important services to you – they demonstrate a true commitment to serving our residents and improving our community!  I also want to thank and acknowledge the many partners – businesses, community organizations, faith communities, neighborhood groups and residents who also give so much to help make our community a strong, vibrant community we all can be proud to live, work and visit.

I look forward to seeing you, hearing from you and working with you in the New Year!  Happy New Year!
