OLL Youth Choir “Friends with God” Sing for Slovene Home Residents
The OLL primary youth choir, “Friends with God”, sang for the residents of the Slovene Home on Thursday, October 17th. The group led by Music Director, Mrs. Melissa Gali-Bird created a little bit of sunshine on an Autumn day for the folks in attendance. “We saw many smiles and received lots of compliments”, Mrs. Gali-Bird said.
The children, who are primarily in grades K-3, with a 4th grade soloist, went around to five resident dining rooms singing 4-5 songs at each. “We saw some parishioners and the folks we performed for were very receptive to the children” Mrs Gali-Bird reflected. “It was a great experience for the students, their parents and of course for those who attended”. “We were asked to come back soon too!” Mrs. Gali-Bird added with a smile.
