Euclid Begins Annual Tree Planting

Mayor Gail kicks-off the 2019 tree planting with Planning and Development Director Jonathan Holody on East 258th Street.

Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer Gail kicked-off the City's 2019 Tree Planting program on April 18th with the planting of an Autumn Blaze Maple on East 258th Street.

This year, 119 trees will be planted throughout Euclid with grant funds from the Community Development Block Grant program.  The trees were purchased from Klyn Nurseries of Perry, Ohio.  Tree types include Maple, Magnolia, Japanese Zelkova, and Tupelo Tower Blackgum.

The tree planting will be conducted by the Euclid Group, LLC - a Euclid-based landscape company that is owned and operated by Dennis Strnad.

Euclid's robust CDBG tree planting program seeks to improve property values, diversify the City's urban forest, and reduce storm water run-off throughout the community.  Since 2016, the program has funded the planting of 774 trees in Euclid.
