Euclid has huge sucess with 2017 Pond & Garden Tour

Once again Euclid, Ohio presented their Annual Pond & Garden Tour.  The tour, a three day event, was held on July 14, 15 &16.  Special features included enchanting Twilight Tours.

For many years the Euclid Pond and Garden Tour has given its residents a chance to showcase the beautiful properties in this lakefront city.

Euclid started hosting gardening tours in 2001. The goal was and continues to be to promote the love/benefit of gardening by sharing ideals and gardening tips.  Euclid garden tour isn’t just an escape into garden settings; it is connecting people from all over the community and beyond.

The 2017 Euclid Pond and Garden Tour drew well over 200 spectators. The weather was amazing for this year’s event. Spectators traveled from surrounding areas such as Burton, Concord, Bratenahl, Thompson, Avon, Shaker Hts., Cleveland and many more. The response from the visitors was very enthusiastic.

2017 Euclid Pond and Garden Tour Highlights life near the Lake.

The Euclid Pond and Garden Tour has given residents a chance to showcase their beautiful properties. The owners enhanced these wonderfully landscaped properties with ponds, water features, and a variety of plants; many of which are described as being “hidden gems” in our lakefront city.

The gardeners on the tour enjoy sharing the wonders of their hard work and efforts, visitors are offered the opportunity to learn some tips on how they can improve their own properties and create their very own oasis!

Butterflies, flowers, and ponds, Oh my! (And the addition of twinkling lights) are just some of the elements that enhanced gardens show on the added twilight strolls. The Euclid neighborhood gardeners worked hard and went all out to welcome their guests to their private paradises.  One such hostess booked Victor Samalot, an acoustic instrumental guitarist, to add music in her garden.  Other elements included the ambience of burning fireplaces, waterfalls, and ponds with goldfish, frogs, and tadpoles. Truly these are secret relaxing urban gardens.

Urban gardening is also a great way to grow fresh, healthy food, it’s a great way to build communities and connect with others. Studies have shown that communities that garden have less stress and live healthier, longer lives.

Working together for a better Euclid, the Euclid Shade Tree Municipal Beautification Commission plans the garden tour to promote public interest in the beautification of private and commercial properties.  Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer Gail, Euclid Shade Tree Beautification Commissioners, host gardeners and the entire City of Euclid, are most grateful to our visitors. Thanks to our partnering businesses: Lakeshore Coffee House, Briardale Greens Golf and The City of Euclid Recreation Department for helping promote this very positive, fun experience in our beautiful city.
