Let the Bargain Hunting Begin

The next time you drive past Sims Park, remember it’s getting close to a very special hunting season that doesn’t require bows and arrows or weapons of any kind. It’s the annual Henn Mansion Flea Market on Saturday, April 29, that is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a preview sale for a $5 donation at the door on Friday, April 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

This event targets bargain hunters with a sharp eye for antiques, collectibles, household items, art, holiday decorations, books and more. Energetic Friends of the Henn Mansion volunteers have been sorting, cleaning and packing treasures away since last May. By Flea Market time, these same volunteers will have transformed the Henn. Hunters can ask volunteers to point them in the right direction for neatly organized shopping by item themes. Collectors, for example, will take a quick right and enter the dining room, shoppers for household items will be directed to the living room, art lovers will be directed up the grand staircase and holiday decoration shoppers will be directed to the master bedroom on the second floor.

For those who want to make more room to accommodate new treasures, Friends of the Henn Mansion are accepting donations at remaining weekly open houses on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. until April 19th. If a pickup is required for your donation, please call Ginny Petrie at 216/731-9376.

Donations help to preserve, maintain and ensure the continued investment in the Henn Mansion as a showplace resource for Euclid residents and businesses and neighbors.
