Thomas Salomon Exhibit at the Art Gallery

Autographed Print of Omar Vizxquel

Baseball artist, Thomas Salomon, famous for his mixed media collage work on baseball stars of past eras, had an exhibition of his latest work at the Art Gallery in Willoughby.  Located at 4134 Erie Street, the showing took place on August 22nd.

Salomon lived in Ney York from 1963 to 1979 and ingested the lore of the Yankees, Dodgers and Giants, inspiring him to create his own kind of baseball card.  The artist’s work has since been exhibited in gallery and sport museum venues from the Babe Ruth Museum in Baltimore, to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

Mr. Salomon’s Art Gallery showing included many autographed works and focused on former Indian stars such as Omar Vizquel, Jim Thome and Kenny Lofton.  His work documented the history of the Indians with a series of color prints of the stars from 1900 to 2000. Prints featured Tris Speaker, Joe Jackson, Earl Averill, Babe Ruth and many more, including players from the 1990’s Indians teams.

Ranging in size and price from a 10x14, unsigned, for $175.00 to a signed 18x24 for $750.00, more information is available by contacting the Art Gallery at (440) 946-8001.
