Chili Cook-Off Heats Things Up!

What could be better than a bowl of hot, spicy chili on a cold day? How about a tasty dessert to go with it! The third annual Chili Cook-Off at Our Lady of the Lake was bigger and better than ever, with 19 chili competitors and 12 dessert entries. Competition was tough, but our seasoned judges enjoyed their work as they sampled the full range of offerings.  The church hall was busy and full, with visitors coming and going between the cook-off and open house. All the visitors enjoyed great eats, good fellowship and live music provided by the newly formed “Lakers” – a band of parish musicians who enjoy coming out for community events. The mood was festive and fun, and everyone left a winner.
