The next month will be jam-packed with roller derby action in Cleveland. The Burning River Roller Girls, Cleveland's premier flat-track roller derby league, will be hosting four out-of-town teams and its third set of interleague home team bouts of the season, featuring Euclid resident Cyndee Jackson, aka Action Jackson.

Saturday, May 11, the Burning River All-Stars will take on the Tallahassee Roller Girls of Tallahassee, Fla., and the HazMat Crew of Cleveland will battle the Eerie Roller Girls of Eerie, Penn. The double-header will take place at the Ohio Nets Sports Complex in Parma at 6 p.m; doors open at 5. Tickets available at www.brownpapertickets.com.

Sunday, May 12 will be a special Mother’s Day bout. Moms get in for only $3 ($6 for general admission) at the Elyria Roll Arena. Baked goods will be on sale to celebrate mom on her special day. The Burning River All-Stars and the HazMat Crew return to face-off against the Bomb Squad and SWAT Team, both of Fort Wayne, Ind. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Tickets available at the door.

Saturday, June 1, the four Cleveland home teams will return to the Ohio Nets Sports complex.

The Hellbombers will open the night battling against the Rolling Pin-Ups. The second bout will feature the Cleveland Steamers and the Hard Knockers.

Tickets are available for $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Discounted tickets available for children 12 and younger. Games in the past have sold out, so the league strongly recommends ordering in advance.
