The Euclid Symphony Orchestra showcases "Fireworks" at March Concert
When we hear the word ‘fireworks,’ we traditionally think of the 4th of July, warm weather and picnics. However, we do not need to wait six months for an explosive event, as fireworks are coming--and right here--to our own community!
Come join the Euclid Symphony Orchestra for their Spring Concert on Sunday, March 10, 2013, 3:00 p.m., at Shore Cultural Centre’s auditorium. Members of the Orchestra, led by J.D. Goddard, Director, will be heating up the room with the following selections: Music for the Royal Fireworks (Handel), Overture to Rosamunde (Franz Schubert), Funeral March for a Marionette (Gounod), and Elegy for Strings (Tchaikovsky). According to Mary Emser, orchestra member and trustee, the concert will appeal to many individuals. "Both the young and the old will especially enjoy the selection, “Funeral March of a Marionette”, which reminds us all of Alfred Hitchcock! It's not only a fun piece for us to perform, but it's also fun to listen to," she states.
Additionally, the audience will have one last opportunity to vote for a selection, either the Phantom of the Opera or Pirates of the Caribbean, to be performed at the Spring Pops Concert on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
Concert tickets are $8 in advance, and $10 at the door. Advance sale tickets can be purchased at the Shore Cultural Centre main office, 291 East 222nd St., Euclid.
