Kiras Kijauskas' literary full court press brought the Harlem Globetrotters to Our Lady of the Lake School in Euclid.
Kiras, a student at Our Lady of the Lake School, entered a bullying essay contest sponsored by the Plain Dealer newspaper. The Harlem Globetrotters are basketball players that perform fun, crazy basketball antics. The Globetrotters will bring "The ABC's of Bullying Prevention" to over 300 schools and youth centers as part of their "You Write the Rules" world tour, celebrating the teams 87th consecutive year.
Cheese Chisholm of the Harlem Globetrotters made a wonderful presentation to the entire school body. Not only did he talk about the ABC's of bullying but he also showed the students some of his basketball tricks. Kiras and his teacher, Mrs. Rossman, were presented with four tickets each to see the Globetrotters show at Quicken Loans Arena.
In addition, Anna Hogrefe won tickets to the circus for her award-winning paragraph in the Plain Dealer contest for how she uses the four virtues of a dragon.
