Euclid Residents Help "Stamp Out Hunger"

The Euclid Hunger Center wishes to thank Euclid residents for their generosity in participating in the U.S. Postal Service Stamp Out Hunger Drive on May 12. Volunteers from the Hunger Center made multiple pickups throughout the day at the three Euclid post offices. An estimated 6,000 pounds of food was donated on the Euclid postal routes.

Hunger Center Trustee Sharon Schutt was elated with the outcome. “Euclid was so generous. It was incredible. We made four pickups throughout the day to three post offices with six vehicles and filled them every time!” she said.

To thank the postal employees, Hunger Center volunteers brought pizza and bottled water to each of the post offices.

The National Association of Letter Carriers conducts the annual food drive in May when letter carriers collect non-perishable donations as they deliver mail along their postal routes.
