A Warm Welcome

It was an honor for principals Ms. Meg Cosgriff and Mrs. Martha Dodd to welcome Mr. Chris Knight to Ss. Robert and William School in November. Mr. Knight is the new Superintendent of the Office of the Secretary for Catechetical Formation and Education in the Diocese of Cleveland. SRW was the host site for a dinner meeting for all the Catholic elementary principals that serve in the eastern region.  It was invigorating to have the opportunity to meet with Mr. Knight to share our vision for Catholic education and to brainstorm for the future.

Blankets of Love Eagle Scout Project

Boy scouts working toward the rank of Eagle Scout must do what is called an Eagle Scout Service Project.  These service projects must benefit an organization other than the Boy Scouts.  Often local churches or community groups are the beneficiary.  David Paus a senior at Villa Angela- St. Joseph H.S. and a member of Troop 54 at Ss. Robert & Willam Parish chose for his project to make paliative care blankets for cardiac patients at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

Summertime Celebrations

The atmosphere here in Cleveland is electric! We are now the city of champions (thanks Cavs), and Cleveland has shown how well it can celebrate a very meaningful and well deserved victory. The 'Cleveland Curse' is over! What great joy began for Cleveland when the buzzer brought that 52-year drought to an end. Moses led the Israelites through an arid desert for 40 years...Cleveland, we can relate.

"The Perfect Season", Starring the SRW 6th Grade Warriors

Ss Robert & Williams’ Catholic School may have some future Cleveland Cavaliers on their hands!  Their 6th grade boy’s basketball team has had a “stellar” year posting a very impressive 22-0 season record in the Greater Cleveland Catholic Diocese CYO League respectively.  Maybe its due to the fact that most of these boys have been playing together since before the 4th grade, or that their coaching staff (made up by John Pavlica, Brian Dunmire and Marcia Clarke) is passionate about this sport and take the time to teach these young men the strategies necessary to succeed and help them realize their individual potential and God given talents.  Not only do they hold the “undefeated” status for the past 2 regular seasons, but these talented sportsmen have also earned themselves the following championship titles for the 2015/16 season:

The administrators and teachers take this charge seriously and dedicate many hours offering enriching opportunities to our students.  We are so proud of the many accomplishments these students have recently achieved:

SRW Catholic School Students Collect Items and Donations for the Euclid Hunger Center

The students and staff of Ss. Robert and William Catholic School collected food and donations for the Euclid Hunger Center during Lent. A picture of a little boy sitting at a large empty table was placed on the cafeteria wall of the school. Every day as the students ate, they were reminded about how many boys and girls go without enough food each day. This visual reminder served as an inspiration to bring in food donations for the Euclid Hunger Center. Each student who brought in food or a cash donation signed a paper can to be taped onto the little boy’s table. Filling the table represented the good that our donations will do in feeding the hungry of our community. Our goal was one item per student. We are happy to say that we far surpassed that goal!

We would like to give an exuberant thank you to everyone who donated to our food drive for this cause."
