Father's Walk 2017 was held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in schools throughout Cuyahoga County and Northeast Ohio.  Fathers and other male mentors are encouraged to walk students to school on this date. Thanks to all the Fathers and mentors for their support of the education of children in their lives.

Imagine Bella students and teachers are members of houses based on the house system from Ron Clark Academy. Students and teachers meet with their house throughout the year to build community and encourage each other to be 4 Star Students. Imagine Bella PTO is looking for new members for the upcoming school year! You can learn more about the PTO at Meet and Greet on Tuesday, August 15th from 6-7 pm. Being a part of the PTO is a great way to meet your family volunteer hours goal! Imagine Bella families have a goal to contribute 10 volunteer hours each school year. 

Imagine Bella staff have been visiting local business, libraries and different events in the community. You will see us carrying flyers, bracelets, yard signs, house shirts, and enrollment packets. Connect with us on Facebook and let us know where you have seen us or our signs!

Early Kindergarten Testing will be held on Friday, August 11th from 1-2 p.m. for students that have late birthdays. Students must turn 5 by December 31st, 2017. Please contact the school with any questions and to register for a test date. 216-481-1500.

Report cards are available for pick-up at the school.

At the end of the Ujima house party, all staff and students came outside to join the dance party and celebrate the end of the year!

At the zoo field trip the 3rd graders had so much fun! They had lunch before they did anything. They got split into groups so the boys were with Mr. Gamble and the girls were with Ms. Port. They saw elephants, monkeys, and tigers. They saw fish and sharks. Some people got to go to the gift shop. They got to ride the train up hills and go to the rain forest. They complained and said "Our feet are sore!" The last animal they saw was a leopard. They just had so much fun!

At my school dance I did a good job. My Mom was so happy! I did my dance and we made it as a team. I was so happy!

Several classes had trips this month to the Cleveland Zoo and were able to see the baby giraffe!

Imagine Bella gardening is beginning again with the start of spring. Right now these young plants are soaking up the rays from a classroom window while staying safe inside from any early spring chills. Soon these plants will be transferred to the garden outside the school building. More pictures to come as we grow!

Imagine Bella Academy is looking forward to an exciting student dance performance. Students have been preparing during their dance specials with Mr. Ford each week and some students have used their enrichment (recess) time for extra rehearsals. The performance is WEDNESDAY, MAY 17th from 6 pm to 8 pm at Shore Cultural Centre. Tickets are on sale now! $5 per person

Imagine Bella is collecting pull tabs from cans to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. This helps benefit pet therapy partners like Sophie the Therapy Dog that has been visiting Imagine Bella this Spring. 

Spring AIR State Testing will begin on April 18th for Math (Grades 3-6), Social Studies (Grades 4 and 6), and Science (Grade 5).

Imagine Bella students in grades 3-6 participated in Imagine Schools National Character Essay Contest. Students wrote essays based on a character maxim and work with other students to complete peer revisions. School level winners were selected by parent judges using a rubric and contest guidelines provided by Imagine Schools National Academic and Character Team. Our top winners from each grade level are being submitted to complete against school level winners from other Imagine Schools accross the country. Spring Dance Performance will be May 17th at 6 p.m. at the Shore Cultural Centre.

A big shout-out to Ms. Parker!! She volunteered her time and came in to share a poem written by actress, singer, dancer, author, and civil rights activist Maya Angelou for Black/African American History Month. Ms. Parker read to the students, "Caged Bird". She also hosted a kid-friendly video prior to reading the poem to give our students a quick background of who Maya Angelou was. She did this during lunch time for all four lunches and even assisted in cleanup for each lunch too! Imagine Bella Academy of Excellence participates in nation’s largest-ever celebration of educational opportunity

Imagine Bella has selected their Teacher of the Year for the 2016-2017 school year. Brittney Grimes started working at Imagine Bella in August 2015 as the Physical Education Teacher and has played a dynamic role in the school's related arts programs. Ms. Grimes infuses lessons with sportsmanship and leads the schoolwide character education initiatives. Throughout the day, Ms. Grimes also supports classrooms during daily success periods which provide in school tutoring to students in reading and math. Congratulations Brittney Grimes--Imagine Bella Teacher of the Year!

Before winter break, students earned raffle tickets for good behavior choices. Each mystery gift was created by the teachers at Imagine Bella and included clues about what was inside on the outside of the box or bag. On the last day before break, names were drawn for student winners. Congrats to everyone who was able to bring home a prize!

5th District Police Department officers visited Imagine Bella with stockings for Kindergarten students at Imagine Bella. The students were so thankful and excited to have these visitors come to the their classroom right before the holidays. 

Students learned about the Engineer Design Process and investigated problems duirng Computer Science Education Week. 

RealEyes Presenters visited the Imagine Bella campus and talked with students about the science behind seeing. This was our second year to have these presenters visit our school and help us learn more about our eyes!

Imagine Bella held it's annual art walk in December. Families were able to their students art work on display, create wintry crafts throughout the building, and take selfies with Santa.
