Imagine Bella Families came to Party in the Park at Neff Park on Friday, June 15th. Teachers came to pass out popsicles, juice, and water. Teachers and students had fun with bubbles, chalk, and other outdoor games. Imagine Families should stay posted to Dojo for future events throughout the summer. Hope to see you there next time!
Does your child turn 5 after the Kindergarten cut-off date? Stop by Imagine Bella Academy of Excellence to get an Early Kindergarten information kit and learn more about our Early Kindergarten program. Students must pass Early Kindergarten Test and submit a referral from a parent.
Imagine Bella is one of only three schools in Ohio to be recognized this year as a National School of Character. Self-Ulwazi won the house party this school and celebrated in all purple! There was purple pop, frosting, plates, cups, and napkins. Pizza and dancing outside to celebrate the end of the year.
The 2018 6th grade class held their promotion ceremony on June 24th, 2018 at Normandy Catering Center. The promotion ceremony included a speech from a former teacher, Mrs. Danielle Kinder. Congratulations 6th grade and all the best next year at your new school!
Kindergarten students celebrated with awards assemblies led by their classroom teacher and the annual Kindergarten Clap-out. Imagine Bella students, teachers, and families cheered the Kindergarten students on to the playground as they celebrated their special day!
During the 2017-2018 school year, Imagine Bella applied to be recognized as a National School of Character. The process included an extensive application and a virtual interview session with parents, board members, and teachers about the Character initiatives at the school. In the same year, Imagine Bella became a state and National School of Character.
First graders from Ms. Gura's class made an Earth Day Pledge. They pledged to honor Earth Day, not just on April 22nd, but every day. We can all make a difference!
Kindergarten students watched caterpillars change to beautiful butterflies. So excited Spring is here!
Imagine Bella was visited by Miss Clayland, Madeline Carter, and the President and CEO of the Cleveland Better Business Bureau, Sue McConnell. Miss Clayland was part of the review process and the BBB awarded the school a check for the School of Character application fee. Imagine Bella was honored to be celebrated by the community as an Ohio School of Character! Imagine Bella is now being reviewed for consideration as a National School of Character.
Imagine Bella teachers met with families during the Spring into Kindergarten event held by the Salvation Army. Through the summer, Imagine Bella teachers will be visiting community events throughout Cleveland and Euclid. We would love to tell you more about Imagine Bella! Imagine Bella Academy of Excellence is now accepting applications for enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year! Enrollment packets and information available in the main office from 8-4:30. Kindergarten students who turn 5 by September 30th can follow the regular enrollment process using the application. Early Kindergarten Testing dates will be scheduled this summer for students with late birthdays. Students must pass test requirements and submit a parent referral. Each year, Imagine Bella students in grades 3-6 participate in the National Imagine Character Essay contest. Students craft essays in response to provided maxims with a focus on character. The essays are edited by peers and final drafts are typed to send for the national contest. Our school level winners were honored during a special awards assembly where students were able to invite family and one fellow student. We are so proud of our students for their excellence in writing and positive character!
Kindergarten students at Imagine Bella created puppets during their Art classes with Art Teacher Mrs. Heston. After their puppets are done it's time to put them to good use. Students performed puppet shows using their own creations! Check out these photos from the Art Room Puppet Theater.
First Grade and Fifth Grade had trips to the Zoo this month! Even in colder weather students can visit many of the indoor exhibits including the Rainforest. They had an awesome time!
The Imagine Bella PTO kicked off their Candy Bar Fundraiser in Februrary. It was a great success! Thank you to all the families that helped to raise funds to support the school. Sellers had the chance to win tickets to Kalahari, dress down passes, and much more! Thank you Imagine Bella PTO!
Imagine Bella held a Black History Month Live Wax Museum on Thursday, February 15th. The school-wide event honored figures from the past and the present. Each grade level had a different decade or time period as their focus. Students worked in their classroom researching their persons life and legacy. Research helped the students in preparing speeches, posters, and selecting the best attire for the Live Wax Museum. There was amazing support from families for this special event. Thank you to all of our families who came and showed support and/or helped their child prepare for the Black History Month Wax Museum! Your presence means a lot to us and our students. We hope you had a blast and can’t wait until next year!
Fourth grade students at Imagine Bella visited Playhouse Square to watch a performance of Mr. Popper's Penguins. Students have been reading the original book and were excited to see the book come alive in this performance.
Imagine Bella has been recognized as a State School of Character by Character.org! We are so excited to receive this recognition and are beginning our next step to apply to be a National School of Character. Looking forward to highlighting the character initiatives in place daily at our campus. Congratulations to the Character Education committee for all their hard work!

Imagine Bella is excited to announce Ms. Gina Salone as the 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year! Ms. Salone leads a 4th grade class and makes her students feel right at home in her cozy classroom. There are plenty of places to stop and read as Ms. Salone shares her love of reading with her class and schoolwide as leader of the Advanced Reading Challenge (ARC). Ms. Salone is a Mentor Teacher to Resident Educators and leads the Shared Values committee. Thank you for all you do and congratulations Ms. Salone!

Each year before winter break, Imagine Bella's Families Helping Families giving tree displays ornaments of items needed by Imagine Bella students. Families and staff members anonymously donate uniforms, coats, boots, and toys to help the students in our Imagine Bella community. Each item is wrapped up for families to take home on the last school day and open during the holiday season.
The cold weather may be here in Cleveland, but that doesn't stop our fun! Imagine Bella students in many grade levels had field trips to the Cleveland Zoo in Decemeber. Students bundled up for the times they were outside and stayed warm in the Rainforest and other indoor exhibits. Check out some of these pictures of their visit to the zoo!
Thanksgiving fun was seen throughout the school. First grade had a feast, we stuffed the "turkey", and many other projects are featured in the photos. On the professional development day before Thanksgiving Break the teachers started off the day with a fun "Thanksgiving Throwdown" competition! Thank you to all the parents, students, and staff that make Imagine Bella such a special place.
On October 31st, Imagine Bella held it's annual costume parade. It was made possible through family donations of candy and helpers that passed out candy at different stations in the school building. Since it was chilly, the parade stayed indoors as students walked the hallways to pick up treats as the music was blasting through the hallways. Imagine Bella's fall festival had an awesome turn out with crafts, games, food and the haunted house! Thank you for everyone who volunteered or attended to make the night a success. We can't wait to do it again next year!

First grade students traveled to Metroparks Environmental Learning Center for a field trip in October. Students learned about motion and made rockets, moved on scooters, and more. Outside students went digging for fossils and made their own fossils. Check out the first graders in action in these photos.
Kindergarten had an amazing time at Hillside Orchards! They learned about how apples are grown, doughnuts are made, and saw the apple orchards. Then they took a hay ride and sampled some apple cider, apples, and a doughnut. Check out the photos from their field trip.
