EPD Summer Activities

The Euclid Police Department continues to provide the community with crime prevention activities even though we’ve had to cancel and postpone most programs due to Covid-19.  Usually, Euclid Police Officers will gather at a local business to hold a Coffee with a Cop event, but we’ve taken it on-line by holding Coffee with a Cop LIVE inside the department while presenting it on our EPD Facebook page.  Look for upcoming episodes on the EPD Facebook page which can be found at: facebook.com/Euclidpolice/.

Chief Scott Meyer and several Euclid Officers are reading aloud in our Books with Badges videos that aim to develop a love for books and encourage reading.  Fun and patriotic themed books should offer a variety for everyone. These are posted on EPD Facebook, Nextdoor.com, and our EPD website, but can also be access on EPD’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU5qqHREWPMW9hWrFgqK9Dw

Safety Town in an online format will be available for parents and caregivers in August.  EPD will have videos and home lesson plans that include activities and coloring sheets for children.  All of the topics will be covered which include: The Pledge of Allegiance, animal safety, bus safety, calling 9-1-1, gun safety, fire safety, keeping healthy, poison safety, pool safety, stranger danger, and pedestrian safety.  A certificate can be printed at the completion of the course to award to the child.  The Safety Town videos and home lesson plans can be accessed in August on our EPD website at: euclidpd/safety-town-online/.

Not holding our normal programs is difficult for the EPD Community Policing Unit because we love to see and work with the kids who enroll in Junior Police Academy and Summer Soccer Camp, and we will absolutely miss our National Night Out in August.  We are using our social media platforms to our best advantage, so check out our sites to keep informed.  Look for programs to return in 2021!
