We can lead a horse to water...

This is one stubborn Girl but I am grateful for the peace spending time in her world gives me.

We can a lead a horse to water…

December 2019, what a great year this has been, I am so grateful for all of you who read and comment to me on social and in person, I would not do this if not for the people of my community who ask questions, share and give me great feedback to keep going.

When I started my Coaching journey, I had family and friends in mind, I quickly discovered my ideas for them were not their ideas for them and I was soon to become heartbroken that I could not help those closest to me, better their lives unless they wanted to.

My role as Nurse practitioner is similar, I hold the highest visions for what my patients could accomplish with their health if only they could see, try and do just a few little things to improve the outcomes.

I was again baffled that no matter how much cheering I did from the bedside and how much information I could pour out in the few minutes I had with each patient, nothing seemed to matter.

Why I am telling you this? I understand the pain and heartache of seeing someone I really care about continue to self-sabotage even though they may be smart, educated and “know better”.

Struggling with illness, addiction, a failing relationship, a body breaking down or job that is sucking the life out of a person is so difficult to watch from the sidelines. I have learned, the hard way, that telling, yelling or pointing out the obvious is not helpful and causes undo strife.

We care to the point that our own mental and physical health becomes compromised.

Its and old cliché but it is relevant, “We can lead a horse to water but we can’t make them drink”.

We can however take care of ourselves, NO matter what, without guilt that you are letting someone else down, if we stop talking and start doing, our actions will show our loved ones louder than we can speak.

I have a great workshop on selfcare, below are some highlights to encourage you to STOP, STEP BACK, BREATH and LET GO in a breath any frustration, anxiety and pain and hurts that are beyond your control and avoid mental and physical burnout, which has been proven to lead us to chronic illness.  SELF-CARE IS NOT SELFISH- you are good to no-one if you are not well.

  1. Recognize first that you cannot control another human’s actions or ideas, and its ok.
  2. You have control over your own actions, thoughts, judgements and education.
  3. Imagine your own personal goals and dreams for yourself and your health going forward.
  4. Start each day with one thing to be thankful for, no matter how small.
  5. Show by example, take care of you and others will follow too.

There are plenty of tips and tricks that you can do to make for a peaceful, healthy you and I have them if you want them. But, my mission here is to open the door for when you get stuck focusing on someone else, that you love and cannot control, STOP, STEP BACK, BREATH, LET GO and do something good for yourself.

Reach out to me if you want to set your goals and have some accountability and guidance.

My mission is that all people take charge and become the CEO of their own health, recognizing what the body is telling you and how to listen and what to do next.

I work with people from all over the globe, different lifestyles, variety of wants and needs in life. The one thing we all have in common is the desire to continually improve, health and relationships with food, family, workplace whatever it is, we want more and we want better.

Natalie-Jo Flynn

I am Natalie-Jo, a Personal Transformational Health and wellness Coach.
A Health Coach is a master of habit change, an advocate for living a healthy, happy lifestyle, a teacher of transformation, and an accountability partner to keep clients striving to reach their ultimate goal.

A Health Coach does not prescribe medicine or take the place of a medical professional, they are the motivators to push the client toward lasting results and lifestyle change using holistic and natural methods.

A Health Coach sets attainable goals for their clients, suggests alternative ways to cope with setbacks, and supports their clients in the unmasking of the true meaning behind behaviors - unconsciously or in reaction to external demands. A Health Coach firmly believes that change cannot occur without accountability and sustained motivation, thus the important role of a Health Coach.

I've had 23 years in medicine and have taken a path that is best for those I serve. My mission is to Share my Passion and knowledge, strengths and experiences to connect people with their will to be well. Its easier to stay well that to get well, I guide, advocate, teach and support our community the best way I know how and I keep learning an improving myself in order to be my best for others.
