Think outside the box, the big box that is, and shop small at Shore Cultural Centre this holiday season. Many businesses at Shore offer handmade gifts or gift certificates that are perfect for everyone on your list.

Give the gift of music with tickets to Lake Erie Folk Fest’s affordable evening concert, a much anticipated community event scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2020. Next year’s headline band is Carolina Blue who will bring their down-home bluegrass sound to the Fest. Ticket prices are $15 in advance and may be purchased online at www.lakeeriefolkfest.com.

Need another idea for the music aficionado in your life? How about tickets for a Euclid Symphony Orchestra concert. Their upcoming programs include the Holiday Concert on December 8, 2019, the Spring Classical Concert on Sunday, March 1, 2020, and the Pops Concert on Sunday, May 5, 2020. Anticipating the arrival of a little bundle of joy next year? A welcome gift idea is a prepaid Room Rental to reserve one of our spaces for a baby shower. Shore plays host to countless baby showers, family dinners, and other events throughout the year. Our affordable rooms can accommodate from 35-100 guests. The Center Gym is a popular rental for birthday parties for the Under 12 crowd. Space fills up quickly, and January is the perfect time to plan ahead.

On December 7, you can shop at the monthly Vendor Extravaganza from Noon to 6:00 p.m. located in the Center Gym at Shore. This is definitely a networking and shopping experience you won't want to miss. The event is sponsored by Women to Women Evangelistic Ministries

Christine Siarka of Shore Oasis has a soothing antidote for holiday-induced stress with two sessions called December Reboot Oasis on December 14 or December 28, from 11:00 – 12:30 p.m. Spend 90 minutes rejuvenating and relaxing while learning breathing and other relaxation techniques. Light refreshments, door prizes, gift certificates, and a few surprises are in store. Cost is on a sliding scale. Also at Shore Oasis is Art from the Heart on Saturday, December 14, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. where you will be able to shop some of Christine’s handmade gifts including original nature image cards, stoneware ceramic vases of Joy, and framed artwork. This is the perfect opportunity to treat a friend (or yourself) to a gift certificate for reiki or massage. Leneghan Dance offers 4- or 6-week certificates for Irish dance lessons; Rozenia Cunningham of Art it Yourself has certificates for art classes for all ages; and Angela Hulett at Soo Crafty offers gift certificates for jewelry making, crochet, and art classes. Buy a punch card to the Pottery Open Studio conducted by Jayson Hayes for a fun wintertime diversion for the budding potter.
