September Happy Hippy Mama

My friends and I when we Floated The River in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Hi All-

I hate to say it but it seems our summer is coming to an end.  I am always sad to see it go but excited about the lovely weather that is quickly approaching.  We are big fall fans at our house. Late summer and early fall crops make farmers markets a wonderful place to visit.  Euclid Youth soccer has just begun and the fields on Babbitt road are overflowing with kids each Saturday morning from 9 am-noon.  We soak up the last of the warm weather and look forward to cooler temps where we can enjoy hot soups and warm teas. I look forward to sharing some of our family favorites in the months to come.

This month I thought I might share a few fun end of summer activities that have helped to fill me up. Taking care of yourself and finding ways to fill up on love is so important for everyone. Take time to take care of YOU!

I treated myself to a day off, and it was wonderful!  A group of my friends and I traveled (kid-free) to Cuyahoga Falls a few weeks back and all Floated the River.https://www.floattheriver.net/. We had SO much fun.  I highly recommend the trip.  For just $20 (reservations can be made online,) you get a tube and a ride to and from the river.  Take a look at the website and try to squeeze it in this year, or FOR SURE look ahead for a fun event next year.  Riders must be at least 5 years old and everyone must sign a waiver.

We also had a wonderful family-friendly event at our beach club last week that allowed for young and old to enjoy the evening together!  We had pizza for sale and invited everyone to bring an item to tie-dye. Our park took care of the supplies (and the mess) and many tie-dyed for the first time!  I enjoyed sharing something I love with so many. It will be fun to see everyone's creations in the weeks to come. Check out some fun techniques at this website. Give one a try with some of your family and friends, but remember there is NO wrong way to tie-dye. http://www.bystephanielynn.com/2015/06/tie-dye-folding-techniques-16-vibrant-tie-dye-patterns-tiedyeyoursummer.html

Finally the book club I am in just read a great book.  It is called Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reed. This book is a Resse Witherspoon book club pick, and a fun light read that reaches across generations.  It’s interesting interview style made it a quick read, and one almost everyone enjoyed. If you are looking for a fun rock and roll book give it a try.  If you want to borrow a copy shoot me an email at HappyHippyMama@yahoo.com or visit us on Facebook at Happy Hippy Mama.

Whatever you do enjoy the end of this lovely warm Ohio weather, and give yourself and others around you some LOVE.

This months mantra:

I love myself. I am a beautiful, unique spirit. There is no one else quite like me.
