Euclid Art Association Announces Scholarship Winner

Meet the winner of the 2019 Euclid Art Association Margaret E. Hain Memorial Art Scholarship − Euclid High School Senior, Tianna Harper.  Senior Awards Night at Euclid High School was Thursday evening May 2, 2019 at the Irish American Club.  Rozenia Cunningham and Lee Peters presented the EAA Scholarship award to Tianna Harper.  She plans to attend the Cleveland Institute of Art.  “I want to attend art school because I feel it will challenge me to produce quality art work and inspire me to compete with other very talented art students.  My goal is to become either a professional painter or graphic designer, in which I can support myself and make a living.  It would be a dream come true to have a career in something I am so passionate about.”   Best wishes to Tianna as she pursues her art career.

The scholarship was named after Margaret Hain, who was an art educator at Euclid High School and the first president of the Euclid Art Association 60 years ago.  Special thanks to Euclid High School Financial Aid Counselor, Kathleen Gonakis, and art teacher, Edith Mellen, for channeling scholarship information to senior art students.  Euclid Art evaluated all entries received based on a rating system developed by board members.  Euclid High School senior art students were asked to submit up to three entries to info@euclidart.com, along with a short artist statement.  Tianna was awarded the scholarship for her creativity and artistic imagination, and wonderful use of color.  EAA thanks all the applicants for their thorough entries and insightful essays.
