Euclid resident receives Volunteer Excellence Award

Greater Cleveland Volunteers held their annual benefit, Sparkle, on Friday, September 21.2018. The David F. Leahy Award for Volunteer Excellence was presented to Mark Cline of Euclid, for his efforts with Greater Cleveland Volunteers to the American Red Cross.

At the American Red Cross of Greater Cleveland, Mark serves in several leadership roles including a responder and team leader on the Disaster Action Team where he responds to all kinds of disasters at all times of the day or night to assist families that have been impacted by a disaster. He is also the Administrator on Call to assist other Disaster Team leaders when they have questions or concerns and serves as the Volunteer Partner to the Disaster Program Manager.

Cline explains his commitment to volunteering, “From my earliest memories I can remember volunteering with my family, which taught me the value of giving back.”

Mark logs more than 40 volunteer hours a week and still finds time to volunteer for the International Women’s Air & Space Museum housed at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland.

“Mark’s commitment to helping others is the reason we acknowledged him with the Award.” Joy Banish, executive director, Greater Cleveland Volunteers.
