Greeting from the Mayor

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday season – I sure did and am grateful for the wonderful gifts of family, friendship and community.  As I reflect on the holidays and the year we are completing, I reflect on the true gifts of the season:

Gift of my family – having a full house of kids home from school, celebrating my parent’s 54th wedding anniversary, and gathering with family to celebrate the holidays and enjoy each other’s company.

Gift of my neighbors – who share greetings, invite us to their homes, and create a special neighborhood that re-enforces the wonderful support neighbors can provide on a daily basis.

Gift of friends – from across the city who we have gotten to know through city activities, our kids’ activities, and community interactions.  These friendships support me personally as well as exemplify the strength and importance of personal relationships in our community.

Gift of involved community members – who care about our city and give their time and talents to improving our city.  You are making a difference and strengthening our city.

I consider it a gift to be able to work every day with wonderful people, partners, and organizations on behalf of the City of Euclid.  I thank each for the care and commitment to the City of Euclid demonstrated through their kindness, hard work, and actions.

I look forward to working with Council President Mancuso and the new City Council to continue improving our community.  Each member of City Council brings a strong commitment to our city and professional talents that will serve our City well.  I look forward to cutting the ribbon on the Lincoln Electric Training Center, watching Amazon rising at the Euclid Square Mall site, breaking ground on Phase 2 of our Waterfront Improvement Plan, construction of new High School/ Middle School campus by Euclid Schools, re-paving of E. 222nd Street, adopting and beginning to implement our Master Plan, and so much  more.  We will continue to focus on providing high quality services to our residents and businesses and look for ways to strengthen our community.

Again, Happy New Year!  I wish you good health, much joy and prosperity for 2018.  I look forward to hearing from you and working with you to make Euclid a strong and vibrant community we all can be proud to call home.

Best wishes,

Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer Gail
