Ss. Robert and William School Celebrates Another Successful Evening of Learning
Ss. Robert and William Catholic School has been hosting Evenings of Learning throughout the 2013-2014 school year. The fourth, and final in a series, celebrated the Fine Art talents, which are found in our school and in our parish. SRW students, parishioners and community were invited to display their own art work, as well as participate in the band/choir concert.
Many artists displayed poetry, water colors, charcoals and mixed media pieces for the open house. Students were on hand to talk about what they have been learning in Art Class and they took interested individuals through their creative process in generating their own original art works. A silent auction also took place on featured drawings and paintings crafted by our schoolchildren and an area photographer.
Students from Kindergarten through 8th grade had exhibited their handiwork completed in class throughout this past school year. “Inspiration”, was the theme garnered by all pupils including a “Creation Station” where visitors were encouraged to free draw and showcase their own talents. The beginning and advanced band musicians graced the stage and entertained the audience with their musical talents, and welcomed parish vocal groups to join in the fun!
Ss. Robert and William Catholic School is proud to showcase all the talent, skill and ability the SRW School and Parish Community has to offer. Instrumental to the evenings’ success were faculty members, Miss Elizabeth Edwards, Art teacher, and Mrs. Beth Wortman, Music/Band teacher who encouraged, taught and inspired our students to use their imagination throughout this past school year, making this final Evening of Learning unsurpassed!
