Lincoln Electric and Imani Church Present Expansion Plans

Imani Church plans to add a new sanctuary and additional office space to their existing building on E. 260th Street.

The meeting of the Euclid Architectural Review Board on March 24th featured presentations on two major development projects coming soon to the City of Euclid.  The plans of The Lincoln Electric Company and Imani United Church of Christ were both enthusiastically received by the Board and granted conceptual approval at the meeting. 

Lincoln Electric, represented by architect Andy Burbules of Structura Architects, shared their plans and renderings for the new Welding Technology and Training Center at the ARB meeting. 

The Welding Center will be located in a two-story addition measuring 119,186 square feet to be built onto an existing building on the South side of St. Clair Avenue.  The addition will feature a modern glass and metal exterior similar to Lincoln’s main headquarters building located across the street.  A light-filled atrium will greet visitors as they enter the new center.

“You’ve done a wonderful job” remarked Board Chair Robert Dorer.  “It will be a beautiful building”.

The Board was also pleased with the expansion plans of Imani Church.  Faced with a growing congregation and ministry, Imani intends to construct an 11,500 square foot addition onto their existing building on East 260th Street.  The addition will include a new sanctuary and added office space. 

Designed by architect Roy Kevin Madison of Robert Madison International, the new sanctuary is accented by a dramatic roofline and expansive windows.  The addition will incorporate building materials and design elements that maintain consistency with the existing building. 

Imani has been a member of the Euclid faith community for many years.  Led by Reverend Michele Humphrey, the congregation contributes to the community in a variety of ways, including through the weekly distribution of food at their food pantry.
