What are you looking for in 2020? A new job? A promotion? More responsibility? Perhaps you just want to improve your ability to communicate, either to your boss, your loved ones, a small crowd or a large audience. Then joining a Toastmasters Club may be the thing for you, because Toastmasters, a worldwide nonprofit educational organization, empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders. “Bailey Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” says Cathy Gerland, Club Treasurer for Bailey Toastmasters.

And there is a local club that meets right here at the Euclid Library every Thursday night. To kick off the New Year, Bailey Toastmasters Club invites residents to its open house at the Euclid Public Library on Thursday, January 16th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to meet members and see how a Toastmasters meeting is conducted and how being a member can benefit you in your quest for self-improvement.

Open House guests will enjoy a regular Toastmasters meeting that will include a prepared speech, Table Topics™ (impromptu speeches) and evaluations. Kris Fondran, who has served in various club positions, will be the Table Topics master. “Table Topics are one of my favorite parts of the meeting,” says Kris. “This is where guests and members are randomly selected to speak for one to two minutes. It helps you think and speak clearly on your feet.”

This Toastmasters Open House Event is free to the public. Refreshments will be served.
