Message from the Mayor

Fall greetings to all!  Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.  I am truly grateful for the many blessings I have received.  I am grateful for the many wonderful residents I have gotten the opportunity to know.  I am grateful for the wonderful staff who work hard every day to improve our community and truly appreciate the many partners who work with us.  I am grateful for the investment made by many over the last year in our City.

I am also grateful for those who have served our country.  Please join us to honor our Veterans with the Euclid Joint Veterans Council Veterans Day Ceremony on 11/11/19 at 11:00 am at City Hall.  We are fortunate to have an active Euclid Joint Veterans Council and 6 Veterans Organizations serving Euclid – The Euclid Veterans Association, American Legion Post 343, Jewish War Veterans Shore Post 712, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1056, Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 31, Korean War Veterans Lake Erie Chapter 112.  Thank you to all those who served our country and continue to serve our community and our veterans!

The first year of our Hometown Hero Banner program was a great success and we are now taking new orders for the second year!  These banners honor our Veterans or active service members and are displayed on E. 222nd Street and Lakeshore Blvd from Memorial Day to Veterans Day.  If you are interested, please call Linda Beck at 216-289-2751 for more information on the Hometown Hero Banner program.

Mark your calendar for the Euclid Holiday Lighting Celebration – it will take place Friday December 6th at Shore Cultural Centre (291 E. 222 Street) with the Lighting Ceremony starting at 6:00pm and lots of fun activities for all – arts and crafts, food, music and holiday activities!  Special Thanks to Shore Cultural Centre, our sponsors and all who will be participating in this annual community event.

Eyes on Euclid … have you seen the Freshwater Cleveland “On the Ground” series on Euclid?  Euclid resident Jen Jones Donatelli is the project editor and has been putting together a 10 week series highlighting the unique people, places and projects that are happening in Euclid.  Please check out these wonderful stores.  Sign up to receive their e-news or learn more at www.freshwatercleveland.com.

A special thanks to all who are part of making Euclid a great place to live, work and visit!  It is truly my honor to serve you and my community as Mayor.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Mayor Kirsten Holzheimer Gail
