Summer Reading Kick-Off

Stop by the library from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM to experience balloon fun from The Twister Girl, face painting, and more as we kick-off A Universe of Stories! While you are here, register for our Summer Reading Program which starts Monday, June 3 and ends on Saturday, July 20.

Family Game Night - Trivia

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM / LAKE ROOM

Come out and join us for a family game night where the featured game is trivia. Trivia topics will be related to our summer reading theme, A Universe of Stories. Families of all sizes welcome! Additional board and card games will be on hand. 

Queer Struggles and Triumphs in Ohio

THURSDAY, JUNE 13

7:00 PM / LAKE ROOM

Ohio’s LGBTQ history exhibits the classic components of a Hollywood blockbuster with unforgettable characters who bravely fought for equal rights in the face of those promoting a repressive antigay agenda while combating racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia in the process. Tonight’s speaker is Ken Schneck, a professor at Baldwin Wallace University, and author of several books including LGBTQ Cleveland and the recent LGBTQ Columbus.

Juneteenth

MONDAY, JUNE 17

6:30 PM - 8:30 PM / LAKE ROOM

Juneteenth, also called Freedom Day, commemorates the anniversary of the emancipation of the last enslaved people of the United States.  Join us for an evening of storytelling provided by the Cleveland Association of Black Storytellers and the African American Doll and Quilt Guild.
