Health Hugs: Getting the basics

Are you wondering how on this earth can I get healthier as I age and change when each day the media “experts “add the next best thing and the day after that the last best thing is no longer a thing anymore and in theory may make me worse! Next to the weather, I hear people talking more about what they heard about eating, what to buy and where and all kinds of complicated recipes on popular websites that break the bank to make. My goal is to get you on board with the basics of health, and nutrition, then we can have exotic food parties. 

I have many patients and clients come to me asking about trends and fads and where to get the Quick fix. I say once you start, it does become quicker to fix.

Once you get these then it’s fun to experiment with trendy foods, but not until the basics are met. 

Dieticians, Doctors, scientists have worked over centuries studying the human body and what it needs to function, why we eat, what happens to foods once they are chewed is fascinating. It is no secret that each cell in our body needs the right balance of foods to manage hunger and keep hormones releasing properly to assist our body to use our foods and heal and protect us. 

So, what exactly do we need? We must have a combination of Protein, Fiber, Fats and Greens. 

Proteins allow is to feel full, maintain and build muscle. 

Fiber keeps us full without elevating blood sugar, it feeds our healthy probiotic gut bacteria and detoxifies your digestive system. 

Fats, needed for brain function, reduces cravings, slows down digestion of food to allow us to feel satisfied longer after meals. 

Greens, absolutely provide non-negotiable nutrients and micronutrients we need to help our body fight inflammation and stay well.

Eating is a DIET, each species has a Diet to eat to sustain life, this isn’t a diet plan however it is what the basics are for a balanced human nutrition.  It’s more a structure that can help you make sure you are fulfilling your key  nutrition goals and getting what you need to feel full, and satisfied, this an is standard across the board no matter what lifestyle you live. It is important to feel full and satisfied to carry on an get through the day.

Working as a practitioner and coach, I see doctors, dietitians and other healthcare professionals do not have the time or the skills to help people stay encouraged to get lasting results for what is expected for their health.

I found patients feel It is easier to default to old “safe” habits even though they make them feel worse.

A Health Coach will provide the right system, support, and accountability so simple actions can result in big accomplishments.
