Butterfly Release and Bench Dedication: a Celebration in Memory of Aniya Garrett

The community is invited to remember the life of Aniya Garrett with a butterfly release and bench dedication on the afternoon of June 21, 2019.

The ‘Justice 4 Aniya Foundation’ would like to invite the community to Aniya’s butterfly release and memorial bench dedication to remember the beautiful life of Aniya Marie Garrett and recall how at just four years old she “Spoke Up” and “Spoke Out” to try to save her own life. The free and public ceremony will also celebrate putting an end to child abuse and violence and call for protection for child safety across the nation.

Mickhal Garrett, Aniya’s father, organized the celebration. “We hope to see you at the celebration and thank you for all your love, care and support from the Justice 4 Aniya Foundation & Family”, he said.

The City of Euclid is pleased to have assisted the Garrett family and foundation in creating a lasting memory of Aniya through the dedication of a bench at the playground in Sims Park. Thank you to Euclid Group, LLC, a Euclid-based contractor, for donating their time and materials to install the concrete pad and memorial bench in Aniya’s honor.
