Finding God Where God Finds Us

Fr Joe Fortuna is widely known as a talented teacher of theology and doctrine. He shared some of his knowledge recently in a well-attended course titled “Finding God Where God Finds Us,” as part of the Cleveland Ecumenical Institute for Religious Studies (CEIRS) spring series.  He and seventeen adults from a variety of churches met at the First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland in Cleveland Heights to explore the conviction that we meet God not only in traditional and explicitly religious contexts such as Sunday worship, but very often in circumstances and situations that might seem ordinary and not religious.   Conversations included such issues as:

n   Where does the encounter between God and human beings take place?

n  How does it take place?

n   How do we know it is really God whom we encounter and not a product of our imaginations?

n  And what do these encounters mean for us?

Fr Joe’s extensive background and training make him uniquely qualified to help students broaden their understanding of the role of God and faith in our everyday lives.
