A Different Approach

Take a moment to think of all the good things you can say about yourself and your community. Even with loss, you can be inspired when you see yourself working through issues. You can learn from any experience. Now what would you call that? Growth? Yes, it’s growth and maturity. Life is a journey we are all experiencing. We start from wherever we do and move along. We live through a collection of decisions. Some think that they have no choice to change their circumstances. While others sprint ahead, tweaking circumstances little by little.

I’m not suggesting life is easy. What I am suggesting is that at some point, we each can look at the results our decisions -- the outcomes our activities yield and wonder, are we helping or hurting ourselves. When there’s a consistent path to “nowhere” or no change, something is stagnant. Stop operating that way. Do something new.  At first it might seem the results are modest.  Nonetheless, with persistence, circumstances can change.

So today, think about how you want to feel about yourself and your community. If you need help (and we all do), ask for it. The next step is action. The doing of something will take you to the next level. Thinkers sit. Doers move. Be a doer. Take it in small steps. Be excited when you decide to change and begin to see a different outcome. Celebrate! Realize that how you think about yourself and your surroundings has everything to do with the way you live your life.
