 Last Month we learned about eating fresh Fruits and veggies in their respective seasons, it is so exciting now that the fall crops are coming out full of flavors, vitamins and minerals. We also learned some foods that are best to buy organic when available.

 This month it time to GET REAL and get off the SUGAR.

-Sugar causes inflammation.

-Sugar in the morning sets you off for cravings all day long.

-Sugar will give you a boost, but will send you crashing in just an hour or two, causing a    quick fix usually containing More Sugar.

Hints:

  1. Sugar has over 50 alias names (  have a handout of these alias names)
  2. If the package says ‘FAT FREE or LOW FAT”, it is likely higher in sugar and chemical substitute.
  3. Diet drinks are known to increase hunger cravings, usually for foods that are low in nutrients.
