Gateway Family House receives A+ from The Ohio Department of Health

Gateway Retirement Community, one of Euclid's leading senior living and healthcare service providers, is pleased to announce that their very own assisted living residence, Gateway Family House has received a deficiency-free rating on the state survey and we simply could not be more ecstatic!

The Ohio Department of Health walked in to the doors of Gateway Family House on August 2nd and left us with a perfect score. A deficiency free rating indicating there were no short comings, no issues and the comprehensive assessment carried out by the state inspectors went as smooth as butter in a hot pan.

"Receiving a perfect survey from the ODH is a tremendous accomplishment only possible through consistent hard work and genuine care for our residents" said Christine Barrows, executive director of Gateway's Assisted Living.

To be acknowledged as Deficiency Free by the Ohio Department of Health, multiple factors are analyzed. Examination of the buildings environment, the care provided to residents, dietary procedures, cleanliness, medicine policy and safety are all scrutinized. The survey is required annually by Medicare/Medicaid and by federal law.

“This survey is a testament to the diligence and dedication of our staff at Gateway Family House,” commented Christine, “We’re proud of the work they put in every day to keep our residents happy and healthy, while simultaneously ensuring that every aspect of the community adheres to state requirements.”

Gateway Family House is one of the few Residential Care Facilities that can and will accept the Ohio's Assisted Living Waiver Program on the spot! Yes, you read right, on. the. spot.

The Ohio Assisted Living Program pays the costs of care in an assisted living facility for certain people with Medicaid, allowing the consumer to use his or her resources to cover "room and board" expenses. Individuals who meet certain service and care needs and meet established financial criteria may be eligible for this program. To find out if you are eligible, please contact your Area Agency on Aging, and be sure to tell them Gateway Retirement Community referred you!

Lastly, we are always looking to make new friends! So please stop in and view our home. We can't wait to meet you!
