Farewell Summer, Hello Fall

The Recreation Department will be wrapping up its summer with a change in pool schedules in August. Indian Hills Spray Park, Roosevelt and Willow Pools’ last day is Friday, August 3. Memorial Pool is open until Friday, August 31, please note August schedule.

In September there will be a new program called Start Smart Fall Sports. This is an introductory program designed to teach young children the basic fundamental skills of soccer, lacrosse, volleyball and basketball, as well as team work, motor skills and social development. The program is designed for Ages: 3-5. It will start September 4th – 27th, Tuesday & Thursday 6:30-7:30p.m. at Shore Cultural Center. Residents $30 (must show two proofs of residency) | Non-Residents $45. Registration can be done online or in person.

Learn to Skate is open for registration for session 1 is now open. The first session starts with its free class on September 11th. The class will begin September 18th – November 6th. Residents are $45 (must show two proofs of residency) | Non-Residents are $60. Registration has to be done at City Hall or Starting September 11th at C.E. Orr Arena.

Finally, don’t miss your chance to participate in our 2nd annual Zombie Dash 5k at Briardale Greens Golf Course. This year we will be adding to the event, a Zombie Crawl, which will be our 1 mile walk.

Zombie Registration - $5 
Runner Registration - $20 (Before August 31st)
                                $25 (September 1st - Day of Race)
Walker Registration - $10 (Before August 31st)
                                $15 (September 1st - Day of Race)
