Register today for the ‘Big Clean 2018’ on Saturday, April 21
It is finally spring! The days are longer, perennial flowers emerge from the formerly frozen ground, and birds chirp away in the trees. However, amidst all this natural beauty, grocery bags and candy wrappers swirl in the wind. What can YOU do to help keep Euclid Beautiful this spring?
Join hundreds of volunteers for a citywide cleanup on Saturday, April 21st, 2018. The second annual “Big Clean” kicks off at 9 am at Villa Angela-St. Joseph (VASJ) School at 18491 Lakeshore Boulevard. Any volunteer can stop by to pick up free cleanup supplies including trash bags and gloves. After a few hours of cleaning your neighborhood, return back to VASJ to celebrate with free food, music, raffle prizes and more.
“The Big Clean 2018” revives a competition between Euclid and Collinwood to see which community collects the most bags of trash (Euclid won by a longshot last year.)! Building off the success of last year’s inaugural event, Keep Euclid Beautiful and Euclid Beach Adopt-A-Beach groups are teaming up with the Cleveland-based Litterbugz to make this year’s cleanup even bigger and empower even more folks to take action to improve our neighborhoods and our Great Lake!
How to get involved:
1. Register at www.thelitterbugz.org/events/big-clean-2018 as an individual or as a team leader for a group. Your block club, church congregation, and coworkers make for great groups!
2. Pick up supplies at the volunteer check-in location at VASJ on Saturday, April 21st between 9-9:30am.
3. Pick up trash within an assigned cleanup area. (Pick a favorite/preferred area when you register, or ask to be assigned where help is most needed.)
4. Celebrate! All volunteers are invited to a post clean-up celebration from noon to 1:30pm.
The Big Clean 2018 is a partnership between Keep Euclid Beautiful, The Euclid Beach Adopt-A-Beach Team, and the Litterbugz. Thanks to our generous event partners and sponsors, free supplies (trash bags, gloves, pickers), t-shirts, and refreshments will be provided to all volunteers!
