OLL Named Organization of the Year

A recent meeting of the Micro-Lending Cohort at Our Lady of the Lake.

Our Lady of the Lake has been named Organization of the Year by the Euclid Chamber of Commerce, in its annual business awards. “We are excited to celebrate Our Lady of the Lake Parish as a 2017 Award Winner,” said Chamber Director Sheila Gibbons. “Our Lady of the Lake created a new path for small business owners to grow and prosper in our community and we are proud to partner with them.”

Gibbons refers to the new Micro-Lending Program launched by Fr. Joe Fortuna at Our Lady of the Lake, a groundbreaking social justice program the parish has pioneered that provides access to lending options for start-ups and small businesses in the Euclid and North Collinwood communities. The program has funded five loans, achieved a 100% online repayment rate thus far, and helped to develop a new network of loan recipients and engaged parishioners who work together to build capacity and increase access to resources and opportunities for success.
