Keep Euclid Beautiful Sponsors ‘Big Clean 2018’ and Revives ‘Adopt-a-Spot’ Program

Save-the-date for ‘The Big Clean 2018’ on Saturday, April 21st, a community-wide clean up pitting Collinwood and Euclid in a competition to see which community collects the most trash.

The Keep Euclid Beautiful committee is hard at work planning environmentally friendly beautification programs to engage residents, business owners, and other stakeholders around the city.

Save-the-date for ‘The Big Clean 2018’ on Saturday, April 21st, a community-wide clean up pitting Collinwood and Euclid in a competition to see which community collects the most trash. Building off the success of last year’s inaugural event, we are teaming up with the Litterbugz to make ‘The Big Clean 2018’ even bigger and empower even more folks to take action to improve our neighborhoods and our Great Lake!

The fun begins at 9 am at Villa Angela-St. Joseph (VASJ) School, 18491 Lakeshore Boulevard, to pick up free cleanup supplies. Afterwards, celebrate all volunteers’ efforts with free food, music, raffle prizes and more at VASJ. Best of all, we are bringing back a competition between Euclid and Collinwood to see which community collects the most bags of trash (Euclid won by a longshot last year.)!

Get involved by registering at www.thelitterbugz.org/events/big-clean-2018 as an individual or as a team leader for a group. Your block club, church congregation, and coworkers make for great groups! All registered volunteers will receive updates as we get closer to the cleanup event.

The Big Clean 2018 is a partnership between Keep Euclid Beautiful, The Euclid Beach Adopt-A-Beach Team, and the Litterbugz. Thanks to our generous event partners and sponsors, free supplies (trash bags, gloves, pickers), t-shirts, and refreshments will be provided to all volunteers!

AND: Do you love to garden? Keep Euclid Beautiful's Adopt-a-Spot program allows residents and business owners to adopt a planter or planting bed in the tree lawn or city park and enhance it through beautification efforts like weeding, bulb, and flower planting. Maintenance of these areas requires commitment so it is advised to choose a place that is near your home, business, workplace, or nearby park.

Please contact KeepEuclidBeautiful@cityofeuclid.com to learn more about the program. We will be happy to help identify an area in need of beautification or add your preferred spot to our database. Discover how rewarding caring for your community can be and Adopt-a-Spot today!
