Henn Mansion Supporters Pack Wine Tasting Event

The Friends of the Henn Mansion celebrated another successful wine tasting Saturday, February 10 for the benefit of the continued restoration and upkeep of the historic mansion.  With 120 people on hand to enjoy an evening of wine tastings chosen by Gary Twining, and paired with appetizers created by Chefs for Hire, the event had the mansion packed with longtime supporters and first-time visitors to the Henn Mansion.

“This event gives us working money for the continued rehabilitation of the mansion.  We keep working slowly on one renovation after another,” said Allen Lewis, president of the non-profit organization Friends of the Henn Mansion that continues to operate and support the ongoing effort.  Lewis added that future rehabilitation efforts will include basement windows and window wells which are not exciting additions, but necessary to ensure the facility is up-to-date.

The format of this year’s wine tasting was slightly different from last year and seemed to be well received by attendees.  Additional fundraising opportunities included a 50/50 raffle and six baskets awarded as part of a separate raffle.  Both efforts a lot of attention and helped ensure the event delivered needed funds to the organization.

The Henn Mansion is located in Sims Park just east of downtown Euclid.  The lakefront mansion is available for rental with information available at Hennmansion.org or by calling 216.731.5060.
