$15,000 in College Scholarship Money Available

$15,000 in scholarship money is up for grabs and the deadline to apply is quickly approaching.

Eaton Family Credit Union, along with several partners, is working to combat the high costs of post-secondary education by offering several scholarships to our Members and their family members, said Mike Losneck, CEO of the credit union.

“One of our scholarships is offered in remembrance of former Board Member Matt Logies,” Losneck said. The second scholarship will be granted to a graduating high school senior majoring in Business or Finance. Both awards are $5,000.

Losneck said only credit union members or their children are eligible for these scholarships, yet explained it’s easy to join the credit union and become eligible.

“Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in Lake County or Cuyahoga County, Ohio,” Losneck said. “It just takes an application, a government-issued ID and $5 to open a Share Savings Account.”

Applications for these Eaton Family Credit Union scholarships are due March 10, 2018.

The Ohio Credit Union Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Ohio Credit Union League, is supporting students pursuing higher education by providing the annual Ohio Credit Union Foundation video scholarship, Losneck said.

For a chance to win $5,000 for college, Losneck explained students can submit a short video answering the question, "If you ran your credit union, what initiatives/programs/products would you implement to foster the philosophy of "People Helping People'"

All entries for this scholarship must be submitted by Monday, April 30, 2018.
