Euclid Chamber of Commerce named 2017 Euclid Hospital Community Service Award recipient

The Euclid Chamber of Commerce is usually the one handing out awards but on December 6th was on the receiving end of the Euclid Hospital Community Service Award.  Executive Director, Sheila Gibbons, and several Trustees of the Board, were present during a special Euclid Community Hospital Advisory Council luncheon to accept the award.  Several Euclid Chamber Trustees, along with Gibbons, serve on the Advisory Council.

“I am proud to accept this award on behalf of our Board of Trustees, volunteers and members, who work so hard to make our Chamber successful.  We will continue to work diligently to make Euclid a great place to do business,” said Gibbons.

The Euclid Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1976, is a membership organization whose mission is to advocate for the business community and to help businesses develop and grow.  The Euclid Chamber offers a wide variety of events and workshops to provide opportunities for local businesses to network, learn and engage with the community.  Coffee Connections are free networking events that showcase a different business each month.  Other regular events include the State of the City luncheon, Community Leaders Breakfast, Annual Awards Dinner/Taste of Euclid, Business After Hours and the Annual Golf Outing.  The Chamber also provides a variety of educational workshops and webinars.         

The Chamber is also currently working on a special project to establish a Special Improvement District in Euclid and has explored the opportunity of an Arts and Entertainment District. Gibbons, recently agreed to serve on the new Euclid Works Board and is planning a career expo for students in the Spring.

The Chambers’ involvement is not limited to just the business community.  They were one of the founding partners of community events such as the Wind Fest, Summer at Sims and the Holiday Celebration.
