Euclid is in Bloom with Adopt-a-Planter Program

Earlier this Spring, Keep Euclid Beautiful debuted a new program where residents or businesses could sponsor one or more planters that the city has along Downtown Euclid, E. 185th Street and at the lakefront pier. The cost was $35.00 a planter and the funds donated to Keep Euclid Beautiful, thru the Adopt-a-Planter program, helped offset the cost of flowers purchased by the city and planted in the containers. The sponsors were also given the option to plant the flowers provided by the city themselves, or Keep Euclid Beautiful could plant the flowers on their behalf. This new program is slightly different from the current Adopt-a-Spot program, in that it focuses on planting flowers for beautification within the city.

On a warm Tuesday afternoon in May, under the guidance of the Parks Department, Keep Euclid Beautiful volunteers along with Adopt-a-Planter sponsors and city employees from the Planning & Development department, donated their time and planted over 45 containers along Lake Shore Blvd. in downtown Euclid and 5 planters down at the lakefront pier. There has been a very positive response to this newest program, so Keep Euclid Beautiful is looking forward to making it available again early next year.

The City of Euclid and Keep Euclid Beautiful would like to recognize these 2017 Adopt-a-Planter sponsors:

Ron & Judi Zivic, Cortina's Restaurant, Steve & Christine McIntosh, Harvard Soul Bistro, Melissa Jolly, The LakeShore Garden Club, and Infield Chiropractic.

Thank you to all our sponsors for your support and helping us keep our city beautiful.

Linda Beck

Secretary to the Mayor's Office, City Liaison for Keep Euclid Beautiful, Member of Keep Euclid Beautiful Team
