Message from the Mayor

Are you ready for the summer?  There sure is a lot going on in Euclid.  I hope you have received the Euclid 360! publication in the mail – check out their calendar of events or visit their website http://euclid360.com.  You will also find events and activities in the Euclid Recreation Summer Guide, Euclid Public Library “Library Lines” and Shore Cultural Centre “Summer Program Guide” and our neighbors in Collinwood have published the Scoop on Summer (http://collinwoodscoop.org/).  It promises to be a fun filled summer!

I look forward to the neighborhood block parties, parades, and community events planned throughout the summer.  I hope to see you at the Wind Fest on Saturday June 17th at Sims Park and the Summer Concert Series July 13, July 27, August 10 and August 24.  Bring a chair or blanket, come enjoy music, food, meeting new neighbors, and beautiful view of Lake Erie.  Another favorite, the Critical Mass bike ride rolls into Euclid Sims Park on Friday, June 30.

Remember, the Farmers Market will take place every Friday from 3:00 to 6:30 pm at Shore Cultural Centre – there will be entertainment most nights and a variety of fresh fruits, vegetable, plants, and handmade items for sale.  Enjoy the fountain and improvements to Triangle Park, stop at a local restaurant, and take a stroll to the Lake.

In addition to activities and events, you will see construction going on throughout the City as well – continued progress at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, construction at the Euclid Schools campus, businesses expanding, new businesses coming in, demolitions of blighted structures, as well as home repairs and renovations across the city.  Interested in working on your home?  Check out the programs available to help with your housing needs:  Heritage Home Program, Housing Repair Resource Center, EDCOR and City Special Projects (see www.cityofeuclid.com).

It will be a busy summer in Euclid!  I look forward to seeing you around town!  Say hello and don’t forget to take photos for the Art Walk and “This is Euclid” photo contest!
