If it has to do with the wind, there’s a good chance it will be at the Euclid Wind Festival taking place Saturday, June 17 from 3:00- 8:00pm in Sims Park, at 23131 Lakeshore Boulevard near downtown Euclid.  The Euclid Wind Festival, presented by the City of Euclid and Shore Cultural Centre, has a wide variety of activities for the entire family derived from the wind, of which there is an abundance on the shores of Lake Erie.

The thousands who attend this popular event will enjoy tethered hot air balloon rides, Lolley the Trolley tours of Euclid and the city’s wind turbines, helicopter tours of the Lake Erie coastline, zip line rides, inflatables on the beach for young and old, live music from the band Parmageddon (guess where they’re from!) and a variety of wind related arts and crafts for young people down on the beach.   And if that were not enough, Flowers the balloon clown and the giant record breaking bubbles of Dr. U. R. Awesome will entertain the crowds. Food trucks will be there for your eatting pleasure. The Wind Stream parade will attract the children as they become part of the winding line of streamers descending the hillside to the beach where there will be performances by DancEvert and sandcastle making.  There will be plenty of comfort food and refreshment from the food trucks and stands positioned throughout the event site offering summer fare, desserts, cold drinks, beer and wine.  Admission to the festival is free but certain activities require a reservation and/or ticket purchase and have limited access. Some activities have limited access due to popularity, all activities are weather dependent.

Even at Wind Fest, there is such a thing as too much wind.

Many area businesses help make the Wind Fest possible through their generous financial and/or in-kind support.   A few of our sponsors include Hot Air Balloon Sponsor is Sims Buick/GMAC, Beach sponsor is CT Consultants and Sandy sponsors are Cleveland Clinic/Euclid Hospital, Infield Chiropractic, Cuyahoga Community College and Eaton Family Credit Union.  Some of the sponsors will have information tables in the pavilion tent near the beach.

Summer fun continues with the Summer Concert Series at Sims Park: July 13 Wreck'n (Country), July 27 The Benjaminz (R&B. Motown, Pop/Rock/Soul/Jazz), August 10 Chardon Polka Band, August 24 Rubix Cubed (80's).

The Wind Festival is also supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.  For additional information on the 2017 Euclid Wind Festival, please visit:
