Euclid Public Library Receives Library Services and Technology Act Grant

Last month, Euclid Public Library was awarded a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grant by the State Library of Ohio. Thanks to a grant from the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), awarded by the State Library of Ohio, EPL will implement a Building STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Math) program series for children this summer and upcoming school year.

Through Building STEAM, the Library hopes to successfully merge established library programming with innovative approaches, such as using hands-on math and science devices, to generate early interest in STEAM subjects, show parents how effortlessly STEAM can be reinforced outside of school, and increase children’s exposure to technology.

The library will use both fiction and nonfiction resources, as well as manipulative aspects to create engaging STEAM-themed events. Sessions will include lessons using robotics, coding, and wind energy.

The Library will feature STEAM programs during its Summer Reading Program Build a Better Wednesday series. Families can participate in special Building STEAM programs June 28, July 19, and August 16. For more details, please contact the Children’s Department at (216) 261-5300 ext. 5.
