Things to remember as winter approaches

As autumn winds down and the last of the leaves hit the ground there are a few things to remember. City leaf crews will continue to collect leaves that are raked onto the tree lawn into December. Please continue to check the City of Euclid website for the latest information on where crews are working daily. Early in December a start date for the final collection of leaves for 2016 will be posted. On that date crews will begin the last pickup across the City. We do ask you continue to keep leaves placed on the tree lawns only and not in the street.

With the unpredictable December weather comes increased chances of snow. When the snow flies the City has personnel available around the clock. It is our goal to have all streets plowed within 24 hours of a snow storm ending. During snow storms of 2” or more please do not park vehicles in the street. Parked vehicles become safety hazards to motorists as well as slowing down crews plowing streets. The plowing priority for streets are as follows:

  • Main roads and Hills

  • Secondary roads including roads around schools

  • Side streets

Please use caution when shoveling, snow blowing or plowing your driveway not to block fire hydrants or storm drains. Snow plow quote information for seniors and physically challenged residents for the 2016/2017 season is available on the City website under announcements.
