Three Deserving Causes, One Exciting Event

Have you ever been to a stuffy, black-tie fundraising affair and thought to yourself “Ugh, I wish I had just sent in a check.” Or maybe, like me, the limits of your calendar (or your budget) force you to make choices about which local causes to support. If you’ve struggled with either of these issues, then problem solved! Thanks to the creativity and collaboration of several Euclid organizations – you can have a great time doing good on September 23rd at the Shore Cultural Centre’s “Fall Crawl and Casino Night” – with proceeds benefitting three worthy causes.

The fun-filled evening will begin at 5:00pm, with guests checking in at the Culinary Bistro. Each ticketholder will receive $10 in gaming chips, hors d’oeuvres, dessert, drink tickets and lots of chances to win fun prizes throughout the evening. As you practice your poker face and visit the gaming tables, you’ll also have an opportunity to learn more about some of the wonderful programs and services that call Shore Cultural Centre home, including the Euclid Hunger Center and the Euclid Symphony Orchestra, whose work will be supported by the event.

As the long-time epicenter of Euclid’s artistic, cultural and educational communities, Shore Cultural Centre strives to be a place where residents and their families can enjoy a wide variety of affordable programs and services, connect with each other and engage with civic causes.

The Euclid Hunger Center is an award-winning “choice pantry” program that serves over 650 families each month. With the support of volunteers and donors, they succeed in providing a positive and compassionate environment for Euclid residents who seek food assistance. Donations from this fundraiser will help supplement the purchase of a new van for their program.

Shore’s auditorium also provides a stage for the Euclid Symphony Orchestra, whose eclectic troupe of performers (aged 9 to 96) perform an annual Children’s Concert – free of charge – bringing the joy of classical music to over 800 students each spring. Proceeds from the “Fall Crawl and Casino” will help ensure that this tradition continues.

Michael Miklavcic, is the event's primary community sponsor, who donated “in honor of Mary Emser and in memory of Mildred Emser: two of the strongest, most caring women I have ever known. Through whose love, teaching and unwavering support I am able to make this donation today in support of three wonderful charities."

The event coordinators would like to express appreciation to Mr. Miklavcic and also to Dr. Paul at Infield Chiropractic Clinic and John Copic of Jackpot Games, whose generosity helped turn this big idea into an exciting opportunity for Euclid residents to come out and enjoy all that Shore has to offer.

Tickets are $40 and will be sold until September 16th – for more information, to make a donation or to reserve a ticket, please contact Grace Wright at the Euclid Hunger Center (216) 731-3329 or Laura Kidder at (216) 289-8578.
