Message from the Mayor

What a great start to the summer!  The Euclid Wind Fest was a great success – helicopter riders raved about the views along the shoreline and participants enjoyed the hot air balloon rides, zip line, inflatables, bubbles, crafts and activities, dance performances, music and food.  What a great setting and great opportunity to appreciate the lakefront, pier and beautiful beach.  I want to especially thank Shore Cultural Centre, the Euclid Chamber of Commerce, and City of Euclid staff for helping to plan and host the event.  I also truly appreciate the generosity of many local businesses in sponsoring the event and the many volunteers for assisting in making the event a great success.

We will continue to take advantage of beautiful lakefront with the Summer Concert Series at Sims Park each Thursday during the month of July from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy sunsets, food trucks and local music on the lakefront.  The dates and musicians are:

Thursday July 7:  The Benjaminz

Thursday July 14: The David Loy Band

Thursday July 21: Erie Heights Brass Ensemble

Thursday July 28: Chardon Polka Band

Join me for the Euclid Pond and Garden Tour to view beautiful gardens and ponds across the City the weekend of July 22-24 (see www.cityofeuclid.com).  Please take the time to enjoy our parks, local recreation activities, farmers market at Shore Cultural Centre, and the beach at Sims Park this summer.  I will see you there!

Summer is also a great time for home repairs.  Euclid recently joined the Cleveland Restoration Society as a participant in the Heritage Home Loan Program.  If your home is over 50 years old, The Heritage Home Program℠ can provide you with free technical assistance for your home repair, maintenance, and rehab needs and access to loan rates that are more affordable than ever before! For more information see www.heritagehomeprogram.org or call 216-426-3116.

As always, please let me know if you have questions or ideas to share!
